It was the call every parent fears...Come quick there has been an accident. Last night about 8:00 Shawn calls me to tell me Jazy had been in an accident. Jazy and her boyfriend Briggs had left the house about 7:00 headed for town. About a mile west of our place a dear jumped out of the ditch. Jazy swerved to avoid it and in the process hit the dear and started fish tailing. She ended up in the ditch and eventually the Jeep threw them both out (neither of them had their seatbelts on.) and rolled. They both landed in the ditch. It was a miracle they did not end up in the water that was bordering the ditch. The first of so many tender mercies. Treena Merrill and her daughter China Rose with her little family found them on the side of the road about 8:00. Treena called her daughter Cheyenne who lives up the road from us and is a nurse. Cheyenne came and atttended to the kids while Treena called 911. I showed up after they had Briggs in the ambulance headed for Lethbridge. He was then air lifted to Calgary by STARS. Jazy was packed up and sent to Cardston. They did an x-ray and found that she had a severely broken pelvis. They contemplated getting STARS for her as well but figured she could make the trip by ambulance so off she went to Calgary as well. Shawn and I ran home packed our bags, took the kids to my parents and headed for Calgary. We got to Calgary at about 3AM.
Notice the breaks on her right side.
Craig Olsen and Ryan Smith drove her up to Calgary.
