Pep Talk

I love to listen to episodes on the Mormon Channel.  A couple days ago I was listening to episode 42 under "Enduring it Well" by Jon and Kathy Parker.  Their son, Johnny, was born with Carpenter's Syndrome which meant he not only had many health challenges, but he was disfigured as well...especially in the face and hands.  He was an amazing young man who had to endure a lot.  He served a mission and when he was 22 he passed away from an aneurysm.  His parents read excerpts from his journal and this is one that I especially enjoyed.  It was a pep talk he wrote to himself while he was in high school:

"You have conquered so many hard tasks...why can't you get through this.
You are stronger than you think...how many times have you stood up for what is right.
If you stop now all the trial and hardships, are they finished or are you giving up?

Johnny I love you!
You are a good person despite of what you may think.
So you must keep going on!
Why yield to such things that are beneath you...if you do the blood and pain have all been for nothing.
God has not preserved you just to have you fall short of the goals he has for you.
Have faith.
Say an extra prayer and keep going!
Remember that your Heavenly Father love you and that He wants you right up there with Him, because you are His friend, His servant, but most important because you are one of his beloved children."

I think I'm going to write myself a pep talk.
