Tender Mercy

Today Karen and I drove down to Babb, Montana to mail some Christmas letters and parcels. After we were finished we headed out to the car. I put Karen in her carseat and then I saw a friend driveup beside us. I had some extra stamps so I thought I would give her the few I had left. I shut the door and at that moment realized I had left my keys and Karen in the car and the car was locked. My car starter has been locking my doors after I open them. It isn't a problem as long as I remember to keep my keys in my pocket. In this case it was a big problem because I was far from home and Karen was locked in the car. I didn't know what to do so I flaged down an older gentlemen who was parked beside me to ask him if he knew what I should do. He told me he was a locksmith and that he could run home to St. Mary's and get his tools and we would be back in our car in a half hour. Obviously someone was watching out for me. What is the likelyhood that I would meet a locksmith in the Babb Post Office parking lock? I had to stand out in the cold while he was gone. It was very chilly. The wind was howling and I was chilled to the bone when he got back. Karen panicked for a little while until she was able to get her DVD player working and then she calmed down watching Dora. I truly feel like it was a tender mercy from above.
